Seven games by studios part of Dutch Game Garden’s incubation program have been nominated for the Dutch Game Awards 2016, making 11 nominations in total. The Dutch Game Awards is the largest competition for Dutch game developers. The ceremony will be held September 27th at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht.
The registrations for the Dutch Game Awards 2016 are open. Submit your game before July 4th to have a chance of winning one of the acclaimed Owl awards.
Students from ROC Midden Nederland, HKU University of the Arts Utrecht and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, worked together with experts in the field of game design, mathematics and education, to create a math game in the span of 48 hours. The theme was Math: The Final Countdown and was organised in the context of JamToday, a European network aimed at sharing knowledge and expertise about applied game design. The team Knights of Pi was the winner of both the audience and jury award. They developed an applied game prototype where you use your computational skills to build a village.
In the presence of Hein van Oorschot (Chairman Executive Board of NHTV) and Edward van der Pol (director Starterlift) the team of Atlantis Games received the Impact Award from the hands of Boaz Adank, Alderman for Economic Affairs municipality Breda, on 20 April.
Three (partly) Dutch games have received nominations and honorable mentions at this year’s Independent Games Festival.
