Event Details

In our cities, we are making more and more use of digital networks, and spend more time in virtual spaces. We might not know the people in our own street, but we’re meeting people online, buying groceries through the internet and spend time gaming in photorealistic environments that can be hard to distinguish from real life nowadays. What can we learn from these virtual spaces when it comes to our urban planning? Do we behave differently in virtual space than in real life?

D.R.E.A.M. is investigating the digital layers of the city by focusing on our behavior in virtual spaces with a short film program. Afterwards, in an interview with a level designer Fabian Akker (Ronimo Games), they will zoom in on designing virtual space, and the differences with real urban planning.

Presentation and interview by Luuk Heezen.

D.R.E.A.M. is a new, recurring program at RAUM: short films and talks on the future of living in cities.
