Event Details

The Prince Claus Fund together with the VALUE Foundation have opened Culture Arcade to draw attention to games as a creative means of understanding other cultures. Through video games and narratives, players can enter the reality of people they may know little about, particularly in the countries where the Fund is active, in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

You can visit (and play at) the Culture Arcade every Wednesday and Thursday from 13:00-17:00 and every Saturday from 10:00-17:00 until 12th October 2018. More information about the gallery here.

Tutorials:

At Culture Arcade, join in on a workshop to reconstruct damaged cultural heritage sites using Minecraft. The reconstructions are inspired by the Prince Claus Fund’s previous rescue operations of heritage threatened by natural disasters or conflict situations. During these special public workshops, you will learn about the cultural heritage and collaboratively play in Minecraft. The public workshops are open to participants of all ages and free of charge. Materials and equipment are all present in the Culture Arcade. The workshop leaders will provide information on the cultural heritage site and guide participants both in play and in discussions.
