Generally, we know games to be entertaining and challenging, but in truth they can also carry restrictive or stigmatising messages. Playing Architecture is curated by Mélanie van der Hoorn, a cultural anthropologist, and designed by Dafne Wiegers (AHH), architect. The exhibition invites you to play, wonder and critically reflect on the nature and role of architecture games, with a wide array of Amsterdam-related examples.

In the coming months, the Creative Europe Agency in Brussels will be organizing several online information sessions about various subsidy schemes. The aim of this call is to increase the capacity of European video game producers, XR studios and audiovisual production companies to develop video games and interactive experiences for a global audience.The support is aimed at improving the competitiveness of the European video games industry while preserving the intellectual property of the European developers.

Every first Wednesday of the month, Dutch Game Garden hosts a free networking lunch for the Dutch game industry in Utrecht. It is an opportunity for creative professionals, teachers, project leaders, future interns, students, potential clients, and others interested in the industry to meet, mingle and share their projects and questions.

Want to showcase a game live during the Network Lunch and get valuable feedback? You can and it’s free, but we have limited spots available each lunch.
Dutch Game Garden can provide an office desk with a screen and power sockets or an INDIGO Cabinet, but please note that you need to bring your own laptop and mouse/keyboard/controllers.

On 17 January 2023, HAN and SAGANET are organizing a major meeting on gamification and serious games in education.There will be workshops with a showcase of all kinds of projects that are running at the 14 academies of the HAN University of Applied Sciences, and speakers from SAGANET about serious gaming and measuring effect.

The Creative Europe Media Desks of the Netherlands and Flanders invite you to a Dutch online info session about the open call Videogames & Immersive Content Development 2023 (DEVVGIM). De call is there to support the first phase of the development of a narrative videogame or immersive content.
The session features general information about the call and a good practice presentation (in English) by Sébastien Letouze (Exiin). Deadline for the open call is March 1 2023.
