Jonge Historici presents: It\’s all in the Game! Games used as research and field of application for historians
Historical games are becoming more popular and these are being promoted with claims of historical authenticity. Is this claim correct and what does this claim mean? Jonge Historici will dive in the world of historical games! During \’It\’s all in the Game\’ the link between games and history will be examined using different disciplines.
Speakers:
Connie Veugen, teacher of Comparative Arts and Media Studies: Games & Gaming at the Vrije Universiteit.
Pieter van den Heede, PhD candidate at the Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam who researches how the Second World War is portrayed in War Games.
Maarten Collewijn, founder of Collewijn History in Games, who provides historical advice and imagery to game developers. He has worked on games such as Verdun (Blackmill Games/M2H studio) and Divided We Fall (Kava Game studio).
