The Games for Cities program is hosting the first international conference with leading ‘city-game’ design experts from around the world. Games for Cities is an initiative started by Play the City and partners, and aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange on games that have the potential to facilitate more effective and inclusive city-making. The conference will be held in Rotterdam’s Het Nieuwe Instituut on April 20th and 21st, and hopes to attract a variety of civil society members and professions to attend.
Keynote speakers include Paolo Pedercini from Molleindustria, Haris Piplas from ETH Zurich\’s Urban Think Tank, Boston-based social designer Eric Gordon from Emerson’s Engagement Lab, The Why Factory\’s Felix Madrazo, and Ekim Tan from Play the City. Discussions will centre on how city-gaming is the future of city-making, and there will be numerous city-game break-out sessions with 10 internationally active city-game developers, so that you can experience the fun for yourselves.
