Teams of volunteer coders and technologists take a weekend-long challenge to consider problem statements from fisheries experts around the world and present usable solutions. An expert panel of judges will evaluate the presentations to select a winner from each Fishackathon contest site. There will be worldwide grand prizes to be won.
Fishackathon was established to congregate brilliant minds for the purpose of developing usable solutions to address the problem of worldwide overfishing. Overfishing harms the marine environment and diminishes the already meager income of small scale fishermen.
