Playing Architecture is curated by Mélanie van der Hoorn, a cultural anthropologist, and designed by Dafne Wiegers (AHH), architect. The exhibition invites you to play, wonder and critically reflect on the nature and role of architecture games, with a wide array of Amsterdam-related examples.

Play testing is probably the most fundamental skill a game dev needs to build a solid product. However, finding players is time-consuming and performing the test too. Gladly, at GameDevCafé you can always bring your first prototype and get some expert reviews from your peers. But what happens after? When should you listen to feedback, how do you get the most out of it and what are quick and dirty ways to get some playtesting done?
Menno van Pelt-Deen and Bram Steenhuis will discuss two different approaches to playtesting. Will they agree on their approaches? Let’s find out at the GameDevCafé of March 2023!

Paladin Studios and KeokeN Interactive will be hosting an in person portfolio review for students on March 2, featuring feedback sessions guided by gamedesign, concept art, programming, 2D and 3D art professionals from both studios. The focus of the sessions is to make your portfolio application ready.
A neat portfolio is a key element in convincing your future employer to hire you and not someone else. But what are they actually looking to find in one? What makes you stand out positively? What are absolute no-no’s? Professional gamedesigners, concept artists, programmers, 2D and 3D artists from Paladin and KeokeN are going to disclose all the inside information to you during in-person feedback sessions. There is also room to ask about anything from working on your own IP to doing development for hire in collaboration with clients.
Registration (Deadline February 15):
Register here for free (students only!), before February 15 2023.

The Dutch Games Association, together with MeetToMatch, proudly presents the opportunity to become part of the GDC Netherlands Lounge and get access to MeetToMatch – The San Francisco Edition 2023 in the week of March 20 to 24, 2023.
The Dutch Games Association announces the Dutch Lounge: a private meeting area for the Dutch Games Industry during GDC 2023, just one block away from Moscone Center. The DGA is convinced that having a location outside of the official GDC Expo offers the additional opportunity to meet with people that do not have a GDC pass, while still being close to the official venue. The opportunity is offered in a package deal that also includes access to MeetToMatch – The San Francisco Edition 2023. There are also plans for several side events, such as a Breakfast Session at the Dutch Consulate in San Francisco and Business Hours at the Dutch Consulate in San Francisco (per appointment), among other things.
