Ronimo Games, one of many companies housed in Dutch Game Garden, is the first game studio from the Netherlands that has successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign. The studio ended the month-long campaign with more than 400,000 dollar in donations. Within a week the minimum goal of 125,000 dollar had been met.
Ronimo used the American crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to finance the ‘Starstorm’ expansion of their hit game Awesomenauts. They promised their loyal fanbase to include new game characters, new music, chat functionality and a spectator mode.The Kickstarter campaign ended with more than 345,000 dollar in donations. Including additional donations through Paypal, this crowdsource initiative has garnered more than 408,000 dollar overall.
