Eighth edition of INDIGO attracts large amount of visitors

The eighth edition of INDIGO attracted 1300+ visitors on June 30, 2017. Among the visitors were players, developers, students, press, publishers, government officials, as well as representatives from well-known game platforms like Nintendo, Steam, and PlayStation.

INDIGO 2017 took place at a very special venue: De LiK, a former prison that was in use up until 2014. The original prison vibe was still there, with visitors exploring the small corridors, tiny (pretty warm!) cells, former church, and outdoor space.

Wide variety of games

Dutch Game Garden selected a record number of 42 games for INDIGO 2017. The games vary from brand new playable prototypes to finished products in all kinds of categories: entertainment games, applied games, multiplayer games, student projects, and an entire gym filled with VR games.

Presentations

For the first time at INDIGO, visitors were able to attend presentations. In the morning, Valve gave developers a business update on their Steam platform, revealing important statistics and information about future updates. In the afternoon, Epic Games gave two workshops, showing the audience how real-time rendering works in the Unreal Engine.

INDIGO Award

Like last year, visitors voted for their favorite game at INDIGO. We Were Here by Total Mayhem Games, a young indie game studio from Rotterdam, won the INDIGO Award, including tickets & accommodation for Casual Connect Europe 2018 in London, and a PR package by Utomik. Congratulations!
