What is INDIGO?
INDIGO is a game expo organized by Dutch Game Garden. At INDIGO, you play the best and most outstanding games made by independent developers.
Where and when is INDIGO?
How often is INDIGO?
We organize our main showcase once a year. At special occasions, such as game events or conferences, we are often present with a small selection of INDIGO games. That's our traveling INDIGO on the Road, showcasing highlights of previous editions or promising upcoming games. INDIGO on the Road has been present during the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, Campus Party Europe, and Gamescom in Cologne.
What's so special about INDIGO?
We think INDIGO is pretty unique as a game expo. It's a platform where developers present their new games to the audience, as well as a market for publishers, investors, press, and other interested parties. The game developers are personally present to pitch their own game, and of course, every game is playable. The games range from brand new prototypes to completed games offering impressive and rich experiences. There are games in all genres, as well as applied games (for healthcare, education, etc) and games using VR or custom controllers.
How do I get my game at INDIGO?
Registration is open until August 19th. We encourage both professionals and students to submit, and we are happy to announce that international developers are welcome too! Please send us a playable version of your game, or drop by with your own device. We welcome all platforms, but you must provide your own hardware. Submitting your game doesn't automatically mean you're selected. Dutch Game Garden makes the final selection.
How did you get those nice white arcade cabinets?
Industrial designer Martijn Koch gave us the perfect solution for a sleek, modern showcase: stylish, handmade Retrospace arcade cabinets. With an extra screen in the back and completely in white, specially tweaked for us.
Last year, the INDIGO Award was handed out for the first time, and we were able to send the winning team to the Central European Games Conference in Vienna. We're happy to announce this year the award is back! The INDIGO Award is selected by the audience - visitors will be able to vote for their favorite game. In collaboration with the Dutch Creative Industries Fund, the winning team will receive a nice prize. The award ceremony is Tuesday September 27th at 17:30.
