Global Game Jam

"In a Game Jam, participants come together to make video games. Each participant works in a small team on a complete game project over the course of a limited time period, usually over a weekend. With such a small time frame, the games tend to be innovative and experimental. The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the first of its kind: a game Jam that takes place in the same 48 hours all over the world! The global Game Jam will start at 5:00PM Friday, January 30, 2009 through 5:00PM Sunday, February 1, 2009, (all times local). All participants in the Global Game Jam will be constrained by the same rules and limitations, with each time zone having one distinct constraint."
The Dutch version will take place in Hilversum and will be organised by NLGD Festival of Games and Dutch Game Garden.

Official launch Dutch Game Garden (DGG)
During the Expo at the NLGD Festival of Games, to be held from the 18th to 20th of June, Dutch Game Garden will officially open its doors. The kickoff will be delivered on June 19th, with an introduction of already involved partners, a launch of the Developer’s Club, the Incubator and the Business Center plans, and of course a collective toast. Besides this festive event it is of course possible to meet us at our festival booth during the entire Expo.
In the months and years following, we aim for the Dutch Game Garden to develop into a center of game development in the Netherlands and provide a fertile soil for everyone that is professionally involved in gaming and games in any way possible. We will gladly explain to everyone at the Expo how we aim to reach this and in what possible ways we could be of assistance to each other.-
